Warm weather is finally here. Our cold-weather outfits have been put away and summer clothes and sandals are finally here. It’s time to make sure you have everything you need in your summer wardrobe. Nap dresses? Check. A wide leg linen pant? Check. And we can’t forget our favorite summer sandals. Walking sandals. Leather sandals. Strappy sandals. Beach sandals. Waterproof sandals for the beach and gardening and everything in between. Saying I live for sandals might sound a little dramatic, so I’ll just say that I really like sandals, and I have quite a few pairs. 

The 20 Best Summer Sandals for 2023

From the beach or patio lunches to farmer’s markets, stylish sandals are a summer (or warm-weather) essential. I don’t love all the summer sandal trends – you won’t see any platform sandals in this post. (Not a fan). Classic flip flops will do the trick, and we all need waterproof Birkenstocks. But I love a beautiful sandal. Summer sandal trends include puffy sandals (I kind of love them) or a great fisherman sandal. And you can’t not have something woven or raffia – talk about chic. Something with a big buckle (think Birks) makes casual yet stylish statement. The woven ones are a clear favorite for me, and I’ll never say no to a beautiful leather sandal. 

When it comes to heel height, I always go with flat sandals. There are such stylish options that even a low heel doesn’t feel necessary. And at this stage in my life, I’m all about a little extra comfort. I am all for a great pair of sandals to throw on with a dress, but everyone should have a great pair of really comfortable sandals with a cushioned footbed. And if you want something you can walk around in, go for a contoured footbed over one that is completely flat. A little arch support is always a plus, too.
